Thankful Thursday!

 Thankful for my memories of strolling down NYC streets here's one in the fashion district.The beautiful Carousel at Bryant Park.Summers in the city ahhh...inspiring!

 Now it's time to quilt for the Holidays...hurray!Think I will do some of these...to be continued.

Such a variety from my best sellers the "Punkins" to slippers, ornaments and a variety of "Stuffies"...a fun day ! I challenged myself to recycle items from wonderful donated fabrics.Better then ending up in the landfills.We as artists can create without destroying the planet!

Anyone in the Bay Area check this out it's a  great  organization they're repurposing fabrics!(instead of going to landfills)Right in Mountain View,CA.First let me say the people connected with this group...Fabulous!So many creative minds willing to share ideas with others! I'm thankful that it made it to this point but now?What do I do about borders?Suggestions welcome Thanks guys!

Some days there's so much to be thankful for ,I ask myself which do I choose? So since this is a Holy week let me be thankful for the greatest gift given us...His son! Enjoy this precious time ...May the Son-shine on you!

Thankful for fun colors in Spring fabrics.Then a little hand embroidered flower at the yoke...Voila! Something sweet for a Spring stroll.Who knows what cute girl will be wearing these?

Matching scraps!

A little fun just for my adopted grand daughters.I cut 4"sq.they all have a match except 1...Can you find some matches?I'm not sure if the VW bug is their favorite or the pies...they love pies!

Thankful for winters in Florida at sunrise....

 First ....Dream Big! I'm  traveling these days so my studio constantly changes.This one was in San Diego CA.I loved going to the Zoo and Wild Animal Park for inspirations....

 Who says cabinets are only for kitchen stuff.When non sewers visit,it all stores away.

Tool Wrap

Here's a little tool wrap I made to help me be organized while traveling .Opps,I forgot to take pics during the sewing process,but theses can be designed for each one's specific tools.I needed this one for pencils,markers,paint brushes and pens .You certainly could add sewing tools for a class.I fill it up ,roll it and tie it up...works  great on planes.(check with your airline for allowed sewing tools...)

Studio space....

Today I thought I'd share my thoughts about studios.I've had a vast array of spaces from an attic in Rochester,a kitchen table,even a bedroom(pictured here....crapped?Imagine the closet/fabric storage area...) When our youngest went to college I borrowed her room ...thanks kid! Her creative juices filled the room.Fun for me!So I've decided to record them from now on .So when I reach a permenent home it'll be my best space yet...My point is space is space where ever you can create that's the exciting part.....Keep creating!

 Sew the elastic into the strap,attaching elastic at each end.Then add all layers,back cover ,batting,inside back ground,pockets and add elastic strap to center side.(1 end only)

 After you sew all the pieces (like a pocket)then slide cardboard for each side.Sew down the center over pockets too.Now hand stitch at the bottom.Also hand stitch other end of strap once organizer is closed.Add you goodies and go!

Now you can take your art anywhere you go....
